Just When I Thought I Was Out…
It took three years of law school to convince me that I don’t want to be a lawyer. So instead of spending the summer studying for the July Bar, I packed up and moved to Buenos Aires - mainly to wash law school off my brain.
A couple of weeks ago I made a new friend here, and we had a conversation that progressed like so:
Movies –> Argentine Movies –> Argentina –> Argentine Political Situation –> American Political Situation –> “Why don’t you want to be a lawyer?” –> American Prison System –> “I have a book you should read.”
That book turned out to be Governing Through Crime by Jonathan Simon, a professor who used to teach at my law school. Small world.
I just finished it, and I’ll post my thoughts in a few days.
